Providing support and feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges, Julie's therapeutic style draws from a variety of approaches to personalize and tailor the therapy process for each person's individual need. With compassion and understanding, Julie works with each individual, helping them to recognize and build on their strengths to attain personal growth while finding resolution to the difficulties they face.

Julie assists individuals, couples and families in in their quest to create life choices that add joy to their lives. As a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of individuals and their needs, Julie's areas of expertise include anxiety, mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Julie also assists couples in creating a mutually fulfilling relationship by learning new ways to talk and listen, discover each others uniqueness, and uncover opportunities for personal growth.

Julie maintains her licensure through the NCSW Certification and Licensure Board. She is committed to learning new techniques and enjoys learning effective techniques that are beneficial to the individuals she serves. Julie has taken courses in psychoanalytic studies through Duke University and most recently completed a week long educational conference in Orlando, FL geared toward helping spouses/partners recreate and deepen their relationship. She is also certified to teach programs and skills geared toward enhancing couple relationships, and skills for those who are looking to become involved in finding and creating the relationship of their dreams.

Julie's background has been informed not only through academics, but also through her own life experiences. She has been in the mental health field for more than a decade. Receiving her Bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University, Julie was a past President of the NASW-NC student association and Vice President of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. Julie returned to school and earned her Masters degree with highest honors from East Carolina University in 2003 while completing an internship at the Durham VA.
